Magnesium-based · Baking-soda-free
Natural deodorant for skin that reacts to everything else.
Morrowen is a sensitive-skin deodorant built around magnesium and colloidal oat instead of baking soda — so it neutralizes odor all day without the rash, the sting, or the aluminum.
$16 · 75 g stick · Fog & Clover or Unscented · One formula for everyone
Why we exist
Most natural deodorant fails sensitive skin for one avoidable reason.
Baking soda. It's the workhorse of the natural-deodorant aisle because it kills odor cheaply — but it sits at a pH of about 9, far above your skin's natural 4.5–5.5. Wear it every day on the thin, frequently-shaved skin of an underarm and many people end up with the infamous red, itchy "natural deodorant rash," then conclude natural deodorant simply isn't for them.
Morrowen takes the gentler road. Magnesium hydroxide neutralizes the bacteria that cause odor at a much milder effective pH, without disrupting your skin barrier. We buffer it with colloidal oatmeal — the ingredient dermatology has trusted in eczema care for decades — and keep the rest of the formula deliberately short. No aluminum, because we're a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. No baking soda, ever. No alcohol, no synthetic fragrance, and an unscented stick with no essential oils at all for skin that reacts even to lavender.
The result is the answer to the question we kept asking and couldn't answer ourselves: what's the best natural deodorant for sensitive skin that actually works all day? We made the one we couldn't find.
What's inside
A short list, on purpose — eleven ingredients, each earning its place.
Magnesium Hydroxide
The odor-stopper. Keeps odor-causing bacteria from multiplying at a fraction of baking soda's alkalinity — effective without the irritation.
Colloidal Oatmeal
The peacekeeper. Finely milled oat that calms, buffers, and supports the skin barrier — borrowed straight from eczema care.
Arrowroot Powder
The dry-feel. Absorbs moisture through the day so you stay comfortable — without plugging a single sweat duct.
Full list — Caprylic/capric triglyceride (coconut-derived), arrowroot (maranta arundinacea) powder, magnesium hydroxide, candelilla wax, shea butter, colloidal oatmeal (avena sativa), jojoba seed oil, calendula extract, vitamin E (tocopherol), clover flower extract*, fir needle oil*. *Fog & Clover only — the Unscented stick omits both.
The honest comparison
Deodorant, antiperspirant, and the baking-soda problem — side by side.
If you're deciding what to buy, this is the whole landscape in one table. Antiperspirants stop sweat with aluminum salts; deodorants stop odor. Within natural deodorants, the real fork in the road is what does the deodorizing.
| — | Morrowen | Typical natural deodorant | Conventional antiperspirant |

Switching from antiperspirant?
Two honest weeks. Here's the map.
Nobody tells you this part: when you stop using aluminum, your underarms take a week or two to recalibrate. It's normal, it's temporary, and it's much easier when your deodorant isn't burning your skin at the same time.
Days 1–3 · The thaw
Sweat ducts unplug and you may feel wetter than usual. That's your body working normally again — arrowroot keeps it comfortable.
Days 4–10 · The rebalance
Your underarm bacteria shift now that aluminum isn't suppressing them. Odor can spike briefly; magnesium keeps it in check. Reapply once midday if you need to.
Day 11+ · The level
Most people settle here: one morning swipe, all-day protection, no rash. If you train hard, keep a stick in your gym bag and forget about it otherwise.
Fair questions
Everything people ask before they switch.
Is Morrowen good for sensitive skin?
It's the entire reason we exist. Magnesium hydroxide instead of baking soda, colloidal oatmeal to buffer and calm, no aluminum, no alcohol — and the Unscented stick contains no essential oils, for skin that reacts even to "natural" fragrance.
Does natural deodorant actually work?
A well-formulated one does. Odor happens when bacteria digest sweat; stop the bacteria and you stop the smell without needing to stop the sweat. Magnesium raises your skin's surface pH just enough that odor-causing bacteria can't thrive. Most people get a full day from one swipe; on heavy training days, reapply once.
Why is baking soda a problem?
Its pH. Skin sits around 4.5–5.5; baking soda is roughly 9. Daily application to shaved underarm skin is how the classic red, itchy "natural deodorant rash" happens. Some skin tolerates it fine — but if you're reading a sensitive-skin FAQ, yours probably doesn't.
Is it for men or women?
One formula for everyone. Fog & Clover reads green and lightly herbal — deliberately neither cologne nor perfume. Unscented is exactly that.
What happens when I switch from antiperspirant?
Expect a one-to-two-week transition while your sweat ducts unplug and your skin's bacteria rebalance — see the map above. It levels out. Morrowen keeps odor manageable through the middle of it.
Will it stain my clothes?
Morrowen goes on translucent and contains no aluminum, which is what causes yellow armpit stains. Let it absorb for thirty seconds before dressing and dark shirts stay dark.
